Since our founding, BlueNalu has been hard at work developing our seafood made directly from fish cells. Our menu of high-quality seafood products focuses on species that are inherently high in contaminants and that can be overfished, imported, or difficult to farm-raise.

 
 

Toro you can trust

Bluefin tuna is prized for its marbled texture, buttery flavor, and status as one of the most magnificent fish in the sea.

Due to unprecedented demand, especially for the fatty belly cut known as toro, this species has been heavily depleted from the wild. We’re here to provide a new solution.

You can use our premium bluefin tuna toro as sushi, sashimi, nigiri, negitoro, poke or wherever bluefin tuna toro is used.

    In what form will you be selling your bluefin tuna toro?

    BlueNalu’s bluefin tuna toro will be available for restaurants and food service to buy in a saku block form, allowing chefs to save on the labor costs of breaking down a whole fish while providing the flexibility to serve a wide variety of applications including sushi, sashimi, nigiri, poke and more.

    Why are you starting with bluefin tuna toro?

    Bluefin tuna toro is loved for it’s unique and flavorful products, yet supply has been heavily depleted due to overfishing and illegal fishing in the past few decades. We’re looking to fill the gap with our consistent, high-quality bluefin tuna toro.

    Are you planning to work on other cell-cultured products?

    To be successful as a food company, we can’t just be ‘one and done.’ Bluefin tuna toro is the first of many products we plan to offer, so you can enjoy safe, accessible and high-quality seafood while letting our ocean regenerate.
