Esme Zediker

Research Associate II

Esme graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. While studying at Point Loma, Esme interned at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, where she did horticulture and applied plant ecology research. During her undergrad she spent a season in the Pacific Northwest studying alpine ecology in the Olympic National Forest and marine biology in the Puget Sound.

After graduating, Esme traded coasts, taking a research position at New York University’s Cell Biology laboratory examining Marfan Syndrome and TGF-Beta regulation. Deciding to try her hand at a different type of research, Esme moved to the Gerontology and Healthcare Research department at Brown University researching Alzheimer’s disease. At Brown, Esme was able to gain some management experience as a Project Coordinator. This led to Esme enrolling in the Program in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship STEM master’s degree at Brown, which she plans to complete during the 2022-23 academic year.

When not at work, Esme loves gardening, reading books, cooking healthy meals, creating art, backpacking, and taking long hikes with her dog Hurley.
