Chio Saeteurn

Associate Director, Quality Assurance

Chio Saeteurn is a dedicated Food Safety and Quality professional, with 13 years of food safety experience focusing on the implementation of Quality Management Systems. Early on during her undergraduate studies, she became involved with opening a third-party food testing lab and subsequently played a role in its ISO 17025 accreditation. Chio spent the following eight years in various supervisory roles in chemistry and microbiology Quality Control testing, as well as overseeing various Quality Assurance programs. In her supervisory roles, she worked on implementation teams which led to the successful acquisition of Global Food Safety Initiative Benchmarked certifications. She also contributed actively to continuous improvement projects and streamlined product traceability programs.  

Prior to joining the team at Blue Nalu, Chio spent five years as a food safety and quality systems auditor. She conducted audits for customer or industry specific standards, and GFSI auditing. Her auditing experience includes dietary supplements, food, and animal feed. Chio was a certified auditor for High Risk and Quality SQF, BRC, and ASQ HACCP standards. In addition to auditing, she has helped with administering public trainings for various food safety topics such as Produce Safety Rule, FSMA, and HACCP. 

Chio received her B.S. degree in Biological Science from UC Merced and is a PCQI. In her free time, she volunteers with Iu-Mien Community projects, spends time with her large family, enjoys cooking, and travels the world.
