BlueNalu Announces Insider-Led Convertible Note and Preferred Stock Financings to Advance Commercialization of Cell-Cultivated Bluefin Tuna Toro

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — December 29, 2025 — BlueNalu, a global leader in the development of cell-cultivated seafood, today announced new convertible note and preferred stock financings. The financings were led by Agronomics, Siddhi Capital, and Lewis & Clark AgriFood, with additional participation from approximately 40 other existing investors. In the financings, BlueNalu secured approximately $11 million in cash and stock proceeds.

Participation to date reflects the continued commitment of BlueNalu’s global investor base and reinforces the company’s leadership position as it advances toward the commercialization of premium, high-value seafood products produced directly from fish cells.

“BlueNalu stands out in the cultivated protein space for its disciplined, differentiated approach and clear focus on premium foodservice demand,” said Steven Finn, Managing Partner at Siddhi Capital and Board Member at BlueNalu. “The company has built a strong foundation around culinary quality and market relevance as it prepares for initial commercialization.”

“As an industry, cultivated protein has struggled to find its footing, while BlueNalu has clearly differentiated itself. The company continues to stay focused on making impressive technological progress and significantly reducing the cost to scale into a commercially viable platform,” said Dave Taiclet, Managing Partner at Lewis & Clark Partners and Board Member at BlueNalu. “BlueNalu continues to progress with regulatory engagement and strategic partnerships, positioning the company to drive meaningful impact, commercial viability and business success.”

The capital will support BlueNalu as it prepares for its market introduction of cultivated bluefin tuna toro, pending regulatory approval. BlueNalu is targeting selected premium sushi and fine-dining establishments across the United States and is working closely with chefs, distributors, and strategic partners to provide a consistent, high-quality product with year-round availability.

The financings are also expected to advance the company’s scale-up activities, including continued process optimization and manufacturing readiness for its next-generation production facility, designed to support meaningful commercial production volume. In parallel, BlueNalu plans to deepen its regulatory engagement in key global regions, including Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom and the European Union, and expand collaborations with culinary and distribution partners to support a strong international rollout over the coming years as well.

Renewed participation in these financings included long-standing strategic partners Griffith Foods, Pulmuone, and Rich Products Corporation that further reinforces alignment around BlueNalu’s premium product strategy, technology platform, and global scale potential.

“We greatly appreciate the strong support from our prior investors and our global strategic partners as we advance towards commercialization,” said Lou Cooperhouse, Founder, President and CEO of BlueNalu. “This financing will enable us to move forward with our planned introduction of cultivated bluefin tuna toro, followed by commercialization activities to expand our production and distribution capabilities to premium foodservice operators, initially in the United States and ultimately in markets worldwide.”

BlueNalu remains focused on delivering seafood products that offer exceptional taste, consistency, access, and health attributes, while supporting a more sustainable, secure, and resilient global seafood supply chain.
